Sony VAIO TZ Series VGN-TZ38GN

Hello there.

This is my first post here and I wish to know about this new Sony VAIO TZ Series VGN-TZ38GN laptop. I saw the ad in the paper a few days ago and fell in love with this small and dimunative form factor. It costs 140K and was wondering if it is worth the price??

I have no idea about laptops/notebooks and I seek your help.

The Sony TZ is a great laptop. I saw them on demo on an overseas visit in Jan. and I wish I could Buy it right then. Sony laptops have a stylish look and appeal. If only the other laptop manufactureres had designers like Sony's.

The Sony TZ is a great buy considering you get a SSD along with a great battery life and a LED screen. The screen is vibrant and beautiful. I found the screen size (11") small for everyday work but it would definately suit some people (esp. road warriors).

The weight and features of the TZ are simply without peer. The screen is fantastic and the speed of the machine is awesome

For size and looks you can't beat this Sony TZ model. ALso check out the Thinkpad x 300 for comparism.

Yes, I will check the other related models like Thinkpad x 300 (not available in India as yet) and a friend also recommended me the Macbook Air.

They are both in the same price range.

The Sony Vaio is a great notebook. It would suggest you to hold on if you can. I have heard that there is going to be a new VAIO with a 64 or 96 GB SDD soon for the same price.

The Thinkpad x300 will soon be released in India from what I hear.

I was about to pay for a new Sony TZ38 at a store when I noticed that the notebook was scratched in some areas. Seemed to be a heavily used display model. I asked for a new unit only to be told that they did not have any.

So the dealer lost the sale.

I am still waiting for the X 300 as Lenovo does not have them in India s yet.
