Older Sony PCG GR270K
This is my first post on this Forum. Good Morning..The hard drive in the above notebook failed and a new one installed. The BIOS does not see the removable CD in order to use it to install a new OS, however the Setup does offer the option of booting from a removable device.
When removable device or CD-Rom is selected in the Setup, the system just grinds away for a minute and comes back "Operating system not found". This is understandable, so how does one install a new OS in this situation. The CD worked fine before this incident.. thanks

If you cannot reinstall the BIOS try resetting the BIOS setting to DEFAULT or FACTORY setting.
