I notice that the Fujitsu notebooks advertise in the loacl papers that they are made in Japan. Does this mean that they are far better than the Chinese made counterparts of most other brands??
Is this something that one should consider when buying notebooks? I know that "Made in Japan" tag commands a premium in consumer electronics, but notebooks?? |

Some of the higher end Fujitsu Notebooks are made in Japan.
Fujitsu currently offer a wide line of quality notebooks, from ultralights, to Tablet PCs and desktop replacements. They usually have one thing in common - sleek, stylish designs and sterling build quality. The Lifebook Q2010 for example boasts a magnesium chassis, titanium hinges and a gorgeous piano lacquer finish. If you're after a top end business or executive pc, Lifebooks can match the aesthetics and performance of any Macbook, Thinkpad, or Vaio on the market. While many of international computer manufacturers have moved manufacturing to outside contractors in foreign countries to reduce costs, Fujitsu continues to manufacture its high-quality notebook computers in Japan and handles its computers' creation in-house, from the initial design of the circuit boards to manufacturing and final assembly, even tailoring solutions to meet customer needs. |
