HP Pavilion or Dell XPS 1530

Hi all,

I have saved up enough money to buy my first laptop/notebook. I am considering either the Dell XPS M1530 Laptop Product Details or HP Pavilion dv6700 Thrive Special Edition Entertainment Notebook PC series overview - HP Home & Home Office products

The price for both of them based on my config is 53K. I love the HP Pavilion but have never seen the DELL. Which one would you guys recommend?

I need something that would last me for the next 2-3 years. I will be using it mainly for general usage at work, no games.

Go for the Dell XPS 1530. You can config it to your specification and also get a great warranty for the price. You can also bargain for a deal with DELL

Service wise DELL is definately better.

Other things apart, the build quality of the HP Pavilion is far superior to the DELL XPS range. The DELL XPS is cosmetically attractive, but the HP Pavilion is built better.
